A new Dungeons & Dragons novel called The Fallbacks: Bound for Ruin will be released in March 2024. The book is written by Jaleigh Johnson and set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting.
The novel features a group of adventurers called the Fallbacks, who were created by the Dungeons & Dragons team. The Fallbacks are a new group of iconic characters who represent specific classes and archetypes. They will appear in multiple Dungeons & Dragons books in the future.
The Fallbacks are led by Tessalynde, an ambitious young rogue who dreams of leading Faerûn’s foremost adventuring party. The rest of the team includes Anson, a stubborn fighter; Cazrin, a self-taught wizard; Baldric, a cleric who worships multiple deities; Lark, a bard with many secrets; and Uggie, a monstrous pet otyugh.
In the novel, the Fallbacks are hired to recover a mysterious spellbook from a lost temple. However, the job goes wrong when their client is killed and the spellbook is stolen. The Fallbacks must then clear their names and find the real killer.
The Fallbacks: Bound for Ruin is a story about a group of misfits who must learn to work together in order to survive. It is a tale of adventure, intrigue, and betrayal.
