Diving Deeper into the upcoming releases which will focus more on games we know are in development and less about brand new titles coming to the market: Mark Your Calendars for August 22! 🎮📅
Keighley chatted with VGC before the big day on August 22. He spilled the beans about what fans can anticipate. “Viewers, get ready to dive deeper into some of your favorite games like Alan Wake 2 and Black Myth Wukong. We’re all about giving you the latest news on these gems,” he shared.
Now, while hosting the show sounds like all fun and games (pun intended!), it comes with its set of challenges. Keighley pointed out that it’s different from other events like The Game Awards and Summer Game Fest. “Producing a mega-show in Cologne, especially with our team being from LA, isn’t easy,” he noted. “But thanks to our buddies at Gamescom and Kolnemesse, we manage just fine.”
But there’s more. The event ties closely with partners displaying at Gamescom. Geoff and his team constantly brainstorm ways to bridge the on-floor activities at Gamescom with the Opening Night Live event. It’s all about syncing everything up!
Geoff feels that, even though it’s his solo European gig, Opening Night Live holds a global essence. Teams from all over bring their projects to this platform. As for the actual Gamescom event’s popularity, it’s no shocker to him that people still love it, even after the pandemic.
Games We Might See
“Gamescom has this fantastic vibe, a community spirit that you won’t find anywhere else,” Keighley gushed. “I’ve always been a fan. It’s all about the players and the gaming community.”
Gamescom Opening Night Live promises to be a thrilling ride. So, gear up to see what’s new (or updated) in the gaming universe!
